Ocean Tales 09

The Ocean Story

Long ago, in ancient times the world was like a big soup. There was nearly no difference between the waters and the skies, and many different creatures lived in the mist above the birds glided. Among those birds flew winged maidens with long tangly hair- called Sirens (this was long before they turned blond and grew fish tails). At that time the sirens bewitched the entire ancient world with their songs and wrapped all men around their little fingers. The strongest men dropped dead lured by the sirens music. Even Odyseuss- a hulk of a man- had to be tied to the mast so he wouldnt jump to his death. Old stories say that the sirens used to collect white sea shells and inscribe them with their songs. To this day, if you dare to listen carefully you will maybe, sometimes, hear their song in the shells. "Make a fish and it will come true..."
